This hood scoop overlay provides an affordable way to add contrast, texture, and protection to your intercooler hood scoop. It looks great, especially when you clean it with 303 Aerospace cleaner. Put aside the wax and use that for a brilliant, dark look.

Recommended tools:
- Felt tip squeegee
- RapidTac Application fluid (or a few drops of hand / dish soap mixed with a cup of water)
- Microfiber cloth
- Heat gun or hair dryer
- Scissors
NOTE: Initial placement of the vinyl will dictate if you have even coverage. Make sure you are able to center the vinyl.
Clean the surface of the hood. The easiest way to apply this is to wet the back of the vinyl. You can even use a little soap. This will allow you to slide the vinyl around, but will require the use of heat to really make it stick. This method is highly recommended. Pre-mixed Rapid Tac Fluid works THE BEST. Using heat from a hair dryer or heat gun will be essential. Just make sure you use small amounts of heat and work your way up. If it would burn you, it will probably burn the material.
Start at the very back of the hood scoop. Center the overlay up on the hood scoop and start pushing out all the water / soap with your fingers. Do not use a squeegee or anything else that could potentially scratch the material. Continue until you reach the corners. Should anything come up in the few hours after install, just use heat immediately to press it down. Over time the bond becomes stronger and the water you used will evaporate completely.
The DIY install will leave you proud of the work you've done. A great conversation piece as others will probably want to know how you did it all.
