Door edge protection is one of of the easiest peace of mind products to purchase and install. Pre-cut templates allow for easier installations.
With cramped areas and lots of passengers, your doors are susceptible to a little paint damage when opening them.
⭐ INSTALLATION ⭐
WET install.
Recommended Items:
- Microfiber
- Detailing Spray without wax
- Rapid Tac Application Fluid (in a pinch soapy water)
- Felt tip squeegee
You can search "vinyl install pack" on our store and get some of these tools.
Ideal install temperature is 70-80 degrees. If it is warm, do the install in the shade. Vice versa if it is cooler. Clean the surface of the door edges and surrounding area. Spray the surface again with my application fluid and do the same to the overlay as you peel it off the backing paper. This fluid will let you align the material perfectly and prevent it from sticking to itself. In a pinch you can use slightly soapy water (1 drop per 1 cup of water approximately)
Wet the application area and the back of the vinyl. Start with the lower edge of each door. The initial install just involves aligning all the pieces to the desired look so keep the vinyl and application area very wet. Once you're happy with the alignment, then you can start pushing out more of the fluid.
If you need to apply light heat for the edges to dry out and stick, go ahead. You can also wait for some of the fluid to dry on it's own, but make sure there are no bubbles before allowing to dry.
