The convenience of the auxiliary switches in many modern Toyota vehicles is relatively unquestioned. They are labeled Aux 1-4, but unless you have memorized each location, you might forget a switch or two. Asking someone else to turn something else on for you? Well forget about it unless you start labeling.
Lamination makes the sticker stiffer (easier to apply) and more resistance against wear. NOTE: In order to get the label backlit, you would need to sand down the black paint.
You can also purchase actual functional switches to mount these on as well. Rated at 3A. Most people will use these to trigger a relay unless the current draw is low and a fused connection is used.
Wiring for those is:
Yellow - unused on blank switches (for positive backlighting)
Red - 12V Input
White - Ground for ON indicator
Green - 12V Output (when switch is activated)
Black - unused on blank switches (for backlighting ground)
